Higher education institutions (HEIs) and students using the tool are considered joint data controllers, DreamApply Plc is in the role of data processor and the processing activity is data storing. Please see below for our contact details.
The data is stored in data center facilities operated by DreamApply Plc, located in France and is not shared with third parties. Regarding HEIs privacy policy please contact the relevant HEI.
The purpose of this service, as well as the reason for the storage of the data, is to facilitate the electronic creation of Learning Agreements among 3 parties (student, sending coordinator, receiving coordinator).
This is achieved by one agreement party (preferably the student, see below) initiating the agreement and notifying the other agreement parties. All 3 parties will have access to view and edit the contents of the agreement, as well as add electronic signatures to the document.
It is also possible to not notify any other agreement parties and simply prepare the agreement electroncially, save it as a PDF file (or print it out) and delete thereafter. In such a case, no other parties will receive access to the agreement.
It is the user's responsibility to make sure that the other agreement parties that the agreement is shared with, are legitimate. If you are in any doubt, please verify the emails of the agreement parties. We recommend that students in particular should compare the emails of the sending and receiving coordinators with the well-known contact details of the international departments of the relevant universities.
For optimal data protection of the student, we recommend that the student will initiate the agreement process and notify the sending and receiving coordinators, taking care to share the agreement only with coordinators by inserting into the agreement only the officially published international office email addresses of the universities in question.
Normally several parties (student, sending coordinator, receiving coordinator) will have access to the same agreement. Once all involved parties have given up access to the agreement (by pressign the "Delete" button), the agreement is deleted.
In addition, the student has the option of deleting the agreement immediately, after passing through an email-based verification scheme to protect against accidental deletion.
Once an agreement has been deleted, a copy will still remain in backup archives for a limited time period - a backup taken just prior to the deletion will be kept for up to 4 weeks. After this period has passed, the backup archives are securely purged as well and the deletion cannot be reversed.
DreamApply Plc shall not be held responsible for any data loss, accidental or otherwise. Users are encouraged to take backups of their data by using the "Save as a PDF" feature, the "Download as a JSON file" feature or by taking snapshots of the data via the API.
We employ the Google authentication mechanism to securely log you into your account. None of your data is shared with Google in this process.
We do not ever alter any agreements stored on this service, nor do we share them with any other parties except those that the users have specifically designated.
